FAQS

WHAT IS CERAKOTE?

Cerakote is a ceramic based finish that can be applied to metals, plastics, polymers and wood. The unique formulation used for Cerakote ceramic coating enhances a number of physical performance properties including abrasion/wear resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, impact strength, and hardness.

ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CERAKOTE?

Cerekote offerings are more diverse than color. There are actually four different series that you can choose from. Some coatings are good for one application, but might not be the best for another. While color choice is a concern, it should hardly be your only concern. Internal parts and mechanisms will benefit from a different kind of coating than external components. High temp areas, such as barrels and suppressors will benefit most from another type.

HOW THICK IS CERAKOTE AND WILL IT EFFECT THE FUNCTION OF MY FIREARM?

Cerakote is a very thin application, and is generally applied at about 0.001” in thickness, which is why it is an excellent choice for firearms. It will not effect the function of most firearms with the exception of those with very tight tolerances. In certain instances where tolerances are very tight special attention will be given to ensure proper clearances of parts

DOES YOUR WORK COME WITH A WARRANTY?

Yes, all our work comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty. We will refinish if cracking, peeling, flaking or any other failures of the application occur. This does not cover scratches, misuse or damages caused from wear, abrasion or impacts.

DOES CQC HAVE A CERTIFIED CERAKOTE APPLICATOR

Yes. Factory Trained and Certified by NIC Industries

DO YOU REMOVE DINGS, DENTS, RUST AND PITTING PRIOR TO THE PROCESS?

Part of the preparation process is sand blasting. Dings, dents and heavy pitting will not be removed and will be visible in the end product. Surface rust, very light pitting and minor marks and scratches generally can be removed.
